AUCKLAND CITY HARBOUR NEWS, JUNE 7, 2013
Important meal, above and below: Thirty-five special guests were treated to a breakfast at SkyCity Grand Hotel's
Conservatory in support of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. Winners of competitions through Classic
Hits and New Idea were at the Pink Ribbon breakfast where they were treated to a selection of hot food, fruit
and pastries. An East Day Spa masseuse was also on hand to provide neck and shoulder massages for guests.
New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation campaigner Helena McAlpine gave a speech about her ongoing battle
with breast cancer and encouraged New Zealand women to take care of each other and themselves. The
breakfast was broadcast live on Classic Hits by Jason Reeves, Stacey Morrison and Justin Brown.
Meat magic, above and left: Kiwi mums were treated to a special cooking
demonstration by MasterChef New Zealand 2012 winner Chelsea Winter
on Mother's Day. The lucky 11 were chosen to attend the event, held at
Neat Meat in Ponsonby Central, via a Beef + Lamb New Zealand Facebook
competition staged in celebration of Mother's Day. They each invited a
friend to join them as they enjoyed the tips and tastings of two of
Chelsea's recipes published in mEAT Magazine, a free recipe and meat
guide produced by Beef + Lamb New Zealand. Chelsea invited her own
mother-in-law along to join the celebration. ''Kiwi mums are invincible; not
only do they balance work, look after the house and raise a family, they
also cook. I love that I'm able to treat them for once.''
