Healthy job prospects
for Chinese medicine
Graduation is a wonderful day of celebration at the
New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine (NZCCM).
College chief executive Stephen Xu and principal
Dr Jessica Li Feng, congratulate the graduates of
May 2013 on the successful completion of their
studies at NZCCM. Family and friends joined with
28 NZCCM students as they graduated with a
Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) majoring in
Chinese Medicine or Acupuncture.
The four year BHSc majoring in Chinese Medicine
includes the study of both acupuncture and Chinese
herbal medicine. The BHSc in Acupuncture is a
three year course. The employment prospects for
graduates are excellent. The NZCCM graduate
destinations survey showed that more than 80 per
cent of the May graduates are working in the
acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine business
or have gone on to further study.
The New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine is
enrolling students in its degree programmes for the se-
mester 2 which begins on July 29. Call 580 2376 or
The perfect farewell
for your loved one
Fantastic service: The team at Sibuns Funerals go above and beyond to ensure your loved
one gets the perfect farewell service.
Looking back, Sibuns has been part of many
families' stories in Auckland since 1913 when
Watney Sibun moved his family and business
from Wellington to Newmarket.
Since then Sibuns has arranged and
conducted services in the greater Auckland area
and beyond, from the Kaipara Harbour to
Bombay, Mangawhai Heads to Muriwai.
Whenever needed, Sibuns reaches out of the city
to families around the country and overseas as
folk need to either bring their people home or
return them to their own place.
Currently the funeral services are located in
Remuera in a gracious turn-of-the century
residence and offer an intimate space for small
services and spacious sitting rooms for friends
and families who wish to view the people they
have come to mourn and celebrate.
Sibuns' team of funeral directors are
professionally trained to provide families with a
funeral service to remember and honour their
Their staff are flexible and will do their best
to facilitate any request from a family, however
untenable it may seem initially, including
sourcing of unusual vehicles to be used as a
hearse. Naturally, they have a range of eco-
friendly caskets available, and work
comfortably in secular and religious
Looking ahead, an increasing number of folk
are availing themselves of the pre-need services
that Sibuns offers, where details and
preferences for one's own funeral are discussed
Often this process is reported as being helpful
to people who would like to ease the distress on
their families in what is likely to be an
emotionally heightened time.
A pre-payment scheme through the Funeral
Directors Association of NZ is available.
Sibuns staff often travel to family homes
where people are comfortable discussing these
matters ahead of time, or will welcome anyone
who chooses to come in to the funeral home in
Sibuns Funerals are located at 582 Remuera
Rd. Phone 520 3119.
